Terms of use

Use FindThem with care, honesty and respect.

These terms set the basic rules for using a platform built for a sensitive purpose. By accessing or using FindThem, you agree to use it lawfully, submit information responsibly, and respect the safety and dignity of the people involved.

Important.

FindThem helps people publish and discover missing-person information. It is not a police service, private investigation service, emergency-response service, or guarantee that a person will be located.

01

Using the service

You may use FindThem only for lawful purposes connected with locating missing people, providing legitimate information, managing an authorized case, or using related account and support functions.

If you create an account or submit information on behalf of another person, family, organization, or authority, you must have the right or permission to do so and be able to lawfully agree to these terms in that capacity.

02

Missing-person submissions

When submitting or managing a case, you agree that:

  • the submission is genuine and made for a legitimate missing-person purpose;
  • the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge and is not intentionally misleading;
  • you have a lawful basis or appropriate permission to upload photographs and other submitted material;
  • you will avoid unnecessary sensitive information that could endanger, embarrass, exploit, or unfairly expose the missing person or another individual; and
  • you will update, withdraw, or request correction of a case when you become aware that material information is no longer accurate or appropriate.

Submitting a case does not guarantee approval or publication. We may request revisions, decline content, limit visibility, or remove a case where necessary.

03

Prohibited use

You must not use FindThem to:

  • submit a knowingly false missing-person report or impersonate another person;
  • harass, threaten, stalk, shame, exploit, or dox someone;
  • publish private addresses, identity-document numbers, financial details, intimate material, or other unnecessary high-risk personal information;
  • interfere with investigations, encourage vigilantism, or direct users to confront a person;
  • upload unlawful, malicious, infringing, deceptive, or abusive content;
  • probe, attack, scrape at abusive scale, bypass security, or attempt unauthorized access to accounts, private tips, or administrative functions;
  • send spam, fraudulent messages, or malicious links through the service; or
  • use information obtained from the service for discrimination, exploitation, retaliation, unlawful surveillance, or unrelated commercial targeting.
04

Tips and user-provided content

People may submit tips or other information that has not been independently verified. Treat a tip as information to be assessed, not as proof. Do not publish private tips elsewhere without considering the safety, privacy, and legal consequences.

You retain whatever rights you lawfully hold in content you submit. By submitting content, you give FindThem the limited permission necessary to store, process, display, reproduce, moderate, and distribute it for the operation of the service and the purpose for which it was submitted.

05

Accounts and security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for activity performed through it. Keep sign-in credentials confidential, use accurate contact information, and notify us promptly if you believe an account has been compromised.

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate account access where we reasonably believe there is abuse, a security risk, repeated policy violation, unlawful conduct, impersonation, or a need to protect users or the platform.

06

Moderation and case status

FindThem may review submissions and activity before or after publication. Moderation decisions may consider accuracy, relevance, safety, privacy, legal risk, platform integrity, and the information available to us at the time.

We may edit presentation, request clarification, restrict distribution, change a case status, remove material, preserve internal moderation records, or take other proportionate action. We are not required to publish every submission or to keep every published case online indefinitely.

07

Emergencies and official investigations

If someone is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate local emergency service or law-enforcement authority. Do not delay urgent reporting because a case has been submitted to FindThem.

The platform may complement official efforts, but it does not replace them. Users are responsible for following lawful instructions from competent authorities and for avoiding conduct that could compromise an investigation or place someone at risk. See our Safety page for practical guidance.

08

Service availability and accuracy

We work to keep FindThem available and useful, but we do not promise uninterrupted access, error-free operation, permanent storage, or that every piece of user-provided information is accurate, current, or complete.

Search results, public case pages, tips, notifications, and other platform material should be evaluated responsibly. A listing, image, status, or tip must not be treated as an official identification, finding, allegation, or determination unless an appropriate authority has independently confirmed it.

09

Responsibility and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, FindThem and the people who operate it are not responsible for losses arising solely from reliance on unverified user content, third-party conduct, service interruptions, or actions taken outside the platform by users or other parties.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any responsibility or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded. Users remain responsible for their own conduct and for complying with the law that applies to them.

10

Privacy, changes and contact

Our Privacy policy explains how personal information is handled. We may update these terms as the service, legal requirements, or safety practices evolve. The revision date at the top of this page identifies the latest version.

Questions about these terms, a case, account access, or a moderation decision can be sent through our Contact page.
